The Cotswold breed is famous for its long, lustrous, curly locks of wool, as well for their excellent mothering ability. Cotswolds are also known for their gentle demeanor and friendliness. These wonderful sheep come in all colors, from white to silver to different shades of grey.
Cotswold sheep are considered a rare breed. They were first imported to the United States from England in the 1830's and quickly became popular. However, after the Civil War, their numbers declined. Today, there are a number of conservation efforts dedicated to preserving the Cotswold breed.
