Story goes like this: in the fall of 2011 I found that the Musician's Friend web site had a wish-list feature, so I used it to list strings and a few accessories so Ms. Lily could buy them for gifts. At the end of one long evening of ogling guitars on their site, and others, while sipping bourbon. I notice this pretty Mexican Tele. So, for a lark, I add it to the list as a "It would be nice" item.
So for my birthday Lily makes an order for a few things, and they get one order wrong, and one thing had to go back, and so she was on the phone with them a lot. Now I have found both from experience and talking to other customers that if you are thinking of buying anything over about $100 from Musician's Friend, always call. They will give much better deal over the phone than you see online. So somewhere in one of the phone exchanges she mentioned the Tele, and apparently got a deal she couldn't refuse... :^)
Current rig:
My other electric guitar is an Aria Pro II TS-600 with a pair of humbucker pickups, and of course the Emperor Regent has a pickup, but I rarely use it.
