The Farthest Away Mountain
by Lynne Reid Banks

If you like a good fantasy book, then this is the book for you.  One day, a young girl named Dakin wakes up and the farthest away mountain calls to her.  She goes on a journey to the mountain, and makes friends along the way with Old Croak, Vog, Og, and Zog.  They are all rockheads who guard the mountain, or are they really something else? Read this book to find out their secret and the secret of the mountain.
I loved this book because I like fantasy books.  I recommend this book to anyone who liked the Fairy Rebel which is written by the same author.  When I was reading this book in class, I could not put this book down.  If you are in 5th grade or older and like fantasy, it will be perfect for you.

The Graveyard Book
by Neil Gaiman

In this grave bound book, Nobody Owens meets many ghosts and even some people.  He was a baby living in a house below the graveyard when the rest of his family was killed by the man Jack.  He crawled innocently out of his crib, out the door, and up the hill to the graveyard.  The ghosts and creatures of the graveyard adopt him.
This ghostly story is definitely fantasy and was this year's Newbery Award winner. In this story Nobody Owens has many adventures.  I loved this book, because it's a deathly wild ride for Nobody Owens.  I rate this book infiinty +5 stars.

Tornado
by Betsy Byars

The book Tornado is very exciting and sad.  A little girl lost her dog when a tornado picked the dog up.  Then it landed by some people's house and they called the dog Tornado.  The main characters in the book are Tornado and the boy who lives in the house.  The dog becomes the boy's pet until the little girl sees her lost dog in the back of the boy's truck.   My favorite part is when the dog does a card trick!
I recommend this book to 3rd-4th graders.  I give it 200,000,000 stars.
Who do you think will keep the dog, the boy or the girl? Read the story to find out.

The Monster's Ring
by Bruce Coville

One day a boy named Russell Cranaker is chased down the alley by the town bully Eddie.  He find a magic shop he's never seen before. A wrinkly, crinkly old man sells him a monster ring for $1.00, and warns him to use it wisely.  This fantasy tells the story of how a boy turns into a monster and learns a scary lesson to always read the directions.
We loved the Monster's Ring because it has a lot of action, spookiness, magic, and details.  We recommend this book to 3rd through 7th graders who love fantasy and action.  On a scale of 100, we give this book 1,095!

Skullduggery Pleasant
by Derek Landy

Imagine a fire slinging skeleton with a scarf and a pair of shades.  Yeah, and he's the good guy! His name is Skullduggery Pleasant. After Stephanie's uncle dies, she is thrown into a world of magic, evil and talking skeletons.  Stephanie is determined to help Skullduggery save the world, no matter what it takes.
I liked this book because of the magic, randomness, and crude sense of humor.  This book is part of a series and I would recommend it to anybody in grades 5 through 9.

If you love to laugh so hard that you feel like you're going to explode,  read  The Stinky Cheese Man!  It has all your favorite fairy tales except they are hilarious.  The author, Jon Scieszka, is a genius.  He wrote some of the best picture books ever, like The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs and Squids Will be Squids.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to die of laughter.
If I had to rate this book from 1-7, I would give it a 12.

High Tide in Hawaii
by Mary Pope Osborne

High Tide in Hawaii is a great book by Mary Pope Osborne.  It is from the "Magic Tree House" series.  It is one of my favorite books from the series.  Jack and Annie go to Hawaii. How they get to Hawaii is by using their magic tree house, obviously. What they do is they open up a book in the tree house, look at the place they want to go, and BAMOW! Thery're there. They have to do missions every time they go to a different place. The tree house only appears once a month.
In Hawaii, they meet a little girl who lives there and then a disaster happens.
     On a scale of 1-7, I give this fantasy book a 10.

 Bad  Beginning
by Lemony Snicket

This crazy book begins with a wild fire that starts Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire's  adventures.  In this book they meet a very sketchy man named Count Olaf who will do anything to get his hands on the Baudelaire fortune.  He becomes their new guardian and even threatens to kill Sunny, the baby.  To find out if he was successful,  read the book.  This is the  first book in "A Series of Unfortunate Events".

The Capture
by Kathryn Lasky

This fantasy wide eyed book is about an owl realm called the Kingdom of Ga'Hoole.  It is split up into smaller kingdoms.  There is the forest kingdom Tyato where the star character Soren is from.  There's also the desert kingdom Kinare. Those are the two main kingdoms, but there are other territories.
I loved this book because it was a fantasy about my favorite animal, the owl.  So I would recommend this to everyone who loves animal fantasies.  I would give this book a 5 million plus rating if I could.
So, read the book to see what trouble Soren gets into.

This is the first book in the "Guardians of Ga'Hoole" series

The Rifle
by Gary Paulsen

Bang! another red coat down.  The Rifle by Gary Paulsen is a thrilling story about a boy, a sharpshooting rifle, and a whole bunch of redcoats.  During colonial times, a gunsmith named Cornish McManus makes the most accurate rifle that he's ever seen.  He plans to never ever sell this rifle, but to take care of his new wife, he sells it to a boy named John Byam.  Byam, as he is called in the book, uses the rifle almost every day until he dies. Then it's forgotten and lost forever, until... YOU read the book.
I would recommend this book to adventure loving 4-6 graders

The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry,
and The BIG HUNGRY BEAR
by Don & Audrey Wood

This book is great, because a mouse tries to hide a big ripe strawberry from a bear.  First the mouse tries to bury it, then chain it up, disguise it, and put it under a blanket.  Will the bear find the strawberry?  The setting for this book is in the woods and in the mouse's house.
This book is a picture book, but I like it because the mouse does not know how to hide a big strawberry.  Also, the mouse is really cute!
I would recommend this book to anybody.

The Battle of the Labyrinth
by Rick Riordan

If you are alive and between the ages of 9-6,923, it might  be a good idea to read The Battle of the Labyrinth.  This is the fourth book in the "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" series.  I do recommend reading the other ones first though.  The author, Rick Riordan really did a great job with this (these) book(s).
This book/series is about a boy named Percy Jackson, a half-blood from New York.  Half-blood means that he is half mortal, half Greek god.  If you're wondering which god it is, well you'll have to read it, Bwah ha ha ha!!
In this book Percy finds the mythical labyrinth and reaches the center to find....
So, read it now., oh, and for a rating I give it to many numbers to fit on pages.
