Training

I use the Clinton Anderson  Downunder Horsemanship techniques.

Gaining respect and control of your horse.  Making your horse soft and supple.

Respect is one giant Safety

                                  Trust

                                   Enjoy  your

                                   Partner.

Once respect and control has been established you gain a safer environment with your horse.  The horse is willing to overcome fears and gain trust in its partner.  This is where the enjoyment comes in. Once you feel safe and the horse is willing to be your partner you get enjoyment.

With my many years of training I have notice that many of the problems horses have are usually not the problem. It is usually respect the horse gives to a human and the human gives to the horse.

I had a horse come to me with a very bad bitting problem.  I start every horse the same teach them to move  the hindquarters and the front quarters then on to lunging for respect. Then I finished off with a desentizing lesson. The next day she didn't bit.   I never did anything with the mouth.  She finished the month of ground training her owner also has some lessons too.  So both can be on the same page.

I do everything from imprinting foals to ground work to starting a horse in harness or as a riding mount to finish mount to horses having behavior problems.

Working with a weanling colt using some de-sensitising techniques

Most of the horses in training get to wear a harness.  A harness has lots of straps they have to get use too.  This prepares them for the saddle and ridder or getting them read for pulling the cart.  Most horses don't like the britchen on them.  The key is to exposes them to as many thing as possiable. That way they trust and respect you.

These two girls are yearlings you can do so much with the young ones there is so much you can show them in the world before they are ridden.

Free came for training and now look at this girl jumping.

Breeze came first for a refresher after having a beautiful foal in 2007 by Prodigals Domino Toby.  Then her daughter Zephyr came for training she like to stop during a ride and not want to go any more and when asked to move she would kick out and buck a tiny buck as to say I am not going any more. She has lost her attitude about stoping and wanting to be rude. These girls are wonderful mount and a lot of fun to ride.

I also train ponies for children to ride and Drive.

This is a wonderful pony. that came in for training.  When he left my three children were riding this delightful pony.

Acus is also a pony broke to ride and drive.  All ages of children have ridden him.  Arcus is for sale for more info click Here
