We all know what a challenging food environment is coming (read about it here).

With rapidly rising fuel prices and food crops being diverted to fuel production, more children then ever will be hungry. If it weren't for school meals, many children would not have a nutritious meal each day.

Food shelves are stretched thin, and much of the food they have is processed, industrial food - not garden produced foods that we gardeners would prefer to eat.

What can gardeners do?

Here is a simple, pleasant task we can do that will help a great deal.

All it takes is to plant an extra garden row for hungry children.

Planting a few extra vegetables in your garden is really very simple. It can make the difference in a hungry child's life.

Want to join in? All we ask is that you register for the program and tell what you will be growing.

You can do that by clicking here.

Then what will happen?

Thanks and have a great gardening season this year.
