The children’s room will arrange for books and audio-visual materials to be delivered to preschools and daycare providers upon request. We will also do on-sight programs Text Box: Children’s Room and Young Adult Area
Children’s books, magazines, books-on-tape, cassettes, CDs, and videos are located in the cozy children’s room. There Children can relax in one of the padded tubs, study, read a book, listen to a cassette, use a computer, or join in one of the lively programs. The children’s room has its own card catalog. It lists all children’s and young adult books and audio-visual materials. The young adult area can be found on the second-floor balcony. Books paperbacks, and magazines appropriate for children sixth grade and up can be found there.

The children’s librarians (Ro Ratti and Cheryl Cox) are usually in the room. But if no one is there, the other library staff will be pleased to answer your questions.

Children are issued their own library cards with their parent’s signature required. They can borrow any library materials.

Story hours and special programs for children are offered on a regular basis throughout the year. These programs are announced on the library bulletin board, on seasonal calendars-of-events, local media, and this web site. The Summer Reading Club is a program designed to encourage children to read during school vacation.
