Today - June 8, 2006 is the is the 39th anniversary of the The Evil Triad (my appellation) of U.S., declining "ally" Britain and racist Israel's attack on the American "intelligence" ship, the USS Liberty resulting in 34 dead American sailors and wounding of 171 by their own Government's full support of racist Israel's illegal occupations of The Golan Heights of Syria, Sheba Farms area of Lebanon and all of Palestine with the arrest, torture, murder and assassination of the innocents defending their homes, families, lands and heritage.

The USS Liberty a WW-2 Liberty ship converted into a U.S. Navy Communications Intelligence ship outfitted with the most modern electronics surveillance equipment available at the time. The ship had been deployed to accompany the U.S. 6th fleet in the Mediterranean Sea and was cruising in international waters off the Sinai Peninsular on June 8th, 1967 when it came under surveillance by overflying Israeli observation planes and jets for several hours. The crew at first were not disturbed by the over flights of a so-called "friendly" nation whose founding, existence, security and wealth were and are due solely to the unquestioned support of the U.S. Government whether the U.S. taxpayers approve or not.

It was when the Israeli over flights continued but then began to pass low overhead and alongside that the crew became somewhat nervous. They tried to contact the Israelis without success. The ship was prominently displaying the U.S. Flag which was unfurled and showing in the wind. On the stern of the ship in large letters was the name USS LIBERTY and in huge letters on both bows was the designation AGTR-5 which clearly identified the ship.

Suddenly without warning the ship was deliberately attacked by Israeli Air Force Mirage and U.S. supplied jet warplanes firing rockets, machine guns and napalm.

At this point, let's allow the survivors tell the story since they survived the attacks while 34 of their shipmates died and 170 were wounded by America's "best friend." Now go and live through The Assault On The USS Liberty in the words of the survivors then come back and tell me - and or the world about the President's - including the present President GW Bush and Congress's betrayal of you and  "liberty's" trip good, loyal American sailors to "our best friend Israel!"best friends" .

Willmott, (Tio Juan) on January 7, 1997 which is exactly one month after the 55th anniversary of the attack by the Japanese on Pearl Harbor on 12/07/41 which found me ferrying a bomber between Miami and Trinidad enroute to Accra, West Africa for Britain's royal Air Force. It is also exactly 55 years ago today that I arrived in Rangoon, Burma (Myanmar) on January 7, 1942 ferrying a PBY for the Royal Dutch Navy with the stop at Rangoon to drop off 50 Cal. ammo, props and tires for the Curtiss P-40 fighters of the Flying Tigers of the AVG who were under assault by the Japanese as we arrived flying up the Irriwaddy River. But that's another of many true stories to be told.
