CAMMER!

Cammer is the nickname applied to this engine type by hot rodders. I didn't think much of this photograph but a friend of mine thinks it's a great picture. What do you think?

The Subject:  Ford developed this overhead cam version of their 427 cubic inch V8 in 1963-64 They had hopes of dominating the NASCAR Grand National stock car series with it but NASCAR said NO! The engine wound up being used in several drag racing classes from about 1965 through the early 70s. Today it is a hot rodder's treasure. This unit has a 1937 Ford convertible built around it.

The Photograph: Nuthin' special here. Cheap ISO 400 print film developed and scanned at "Wally World".

Canon F-1 (no "n") with 35/2.8 PRO-Matic lens in Canon FL mount. 1/125 @ f 5.6. An old and inexpensive distributor brand lens of unknown manufacture but no slouch. The photo's sharpness and contrast have not survived the squeeze to web friendly file size.
