Busy Holiday

What I like most about Thanksgiving is turkey and gravy. MFH and FF gave me a little taste today and yesterday. Yum. My humans are off for a few days for the holiday so I am busy keeping them company and have not had time to write much on my blog. Hope you all had a happy Thanksgiving and yummy turkey. I think it may be quieter tomorrow and I can write a more lengthy blog entry at that time.

Mouse in the House

FF got me a new fur mouse to play with last night. (He is so great.) I immediately removed its tail. MFH and FF spent time tossing it up and down the stairs for me to chase. I brought it back a few times and than decided it was best if I just settled down and nibbled on it. MFH found me with it and took it back upstairs so I wouldn't nibble it to nothing. (Sometimes she ruins my fun.) I played with it for awhile and then we all went to bed. It's in the click, click room today and I will not be able to get it until they come home and open that room. When they do, I am going to finish nibbling and licking it "to death" as MFH says. Now if only a real mouse would come out of the hole in the kitty litter room...that would be real fun.

More Cat Fun and Games

Cat Concentration This is actually harder than you would think. It took me 1:58 the first time. You can do it more than once because each time the board gets reset.

Cat Tic-Tac-Toe Fun with Xs and Os.

A Day of Colored Lights and New Food

Today lots of interesting things happened. MFH’s brother came to visit. I like him. He reminds me of MFH. FF and MFH changed the wet creatures. I watched while they took care of this task in the kitty litter room. MFH put a new kind of food in my self-feeder. She says its suppose to be better for me. I sniffed it and decided to try it later. MFH also put up prickly looking thing with lots of bright colored lights. I investigated it but didn’t find it all that interesting. When something new comes into a room, I have to take a look at it. Never know if it might be a good place to sleep or something to play with. This lighted thing might prove to be a good play candidate but I will need to check that out later when MFH is not in the room. Oh, and the new food was yummy. Anyhow have to go. Bye.

Yawn

Lately, I've been sleeping with my humans at night. I think they need to get a larger bed. There is not enough room for all of us to stretch out comfortably. Blankets get pulled back and forth, there is a lot of rolling around to get comfortable, and then when we are all settled...the beep, beep, beep machine goes off and they get up. It all breaks up my sleep cycles. I shouldn't complain because I really like sleeping with them and curling up next to MFH. I still think they should get a larger bed but I am glad they let me sleep with them. Guess I will go take a nap in my pink bed or maybe my blue kitty condo or maybe my two story kitty condo downstairs or maybe the sofa or the rug on the upstairs landing or....maybe I already have enough places to sleep and shouldn't complain about the comfy room bed. I should count my blessings. When my humans get home tonight I am going to give them extra kitty love.

Humans are Interesting

I was going to have MFH help me with writing my next blog on how intersting humans are to watch. However, MFH found this Feed The Cats Game and I don't think I can tear her away from it tonight. Humans are interesting.

Cat Quiz

Test your cat knowledge. (This site also has lots of useful information on cats and cat care including a list of items that can be poisonous to your cat.)

Also here is another interesting brief article you might want to read. "We know that cats are not people...why would we think they could eat our food?" Some items you might not think about that could be very bad for you kitty.

Kitty Sigh....

I went to the Cat Chow home page hoping that they would now let me register for a web page on their site. They had had a Nov. 1st deadline which came and went. Now, sigh, they have a Dec. 1st deadline when their site will be updated and they will take new registrations for web pages. Sigh, I was so looking to share my blog with other cats and their owners. (No, offense Kitty Boy and owner.)

Scallywag

This is one of the names MFH calls me sometime. Wonder what it means? I looked around and found some definitions.

Scallywag (I think definition number 3 of number 3 describes me.)

Scallywag (This page gives the history of the word.)

I'm glad scallywag has nothing to do with wagging ones tail. Dogs wag their tails, cats absolutely do not wag their tails.

MFH also calls me sweet pea, wonder what that means? I love my special names that MFH and FF call me.

This Can’t be Good

I was just in my favorite perch in my kitty litter room. White stuff was falling outside the window. The white stuff covered the porch roof, the fence, and also the ground. I could feel the cold of the white stuff if I pressed my nose up against the window. This can’t be good. I don’t like white stuff and I don’t like cold.

One of my Favorite Things

My favorite night sleeping place lately has been my round, pink fleur de lis cat bed. MFH and FF have it placed just outside the comfy room door. MFH put a new pink fluffy blanket in it a month ago for me so it is extra soft and warm. I curl up in a ball and sleep with my tail to my nose. I like sleeping with my humans but sometimes they roll around and pull the blankets back and forth so it’s hard for me to get my kitty beauty sleep. I also like to nap in this bed when my humans are gone to work and they close the doors into the comfy room and the click click room. I miss my humans today. I wonder if they miss me.

Something New...Got Chicken

Last night, MFH asked FF for some of the chicken he was eating. She gave it to me on a plate. (I don’t like eating from a plate.) I was reluctant at first to try it. Lately, all they seem to try to give me is that root beer stuff which smells terrible and tickles my nose. Anyhow, I watched these small pieces of chicken for awhile. I then tentatively tapped one out of the plate with my paw. I licked a piece and yes, it was very good. I ate it and went after more of the pieces on the plate. Everything went well until the third and last piece. While trying to move it from the plate, I caught it on a claw and sent it sailing up into the air. I had to go looking for it and could not find it at first. (This happens sometimes when I am playing with my fake mice. MFH finds them in really odd place sometimes.) MFH tried to help me find it as well. We found it but it was all dirty and MFH took it away. :( She was probably right to do so; I would have eaten it and probably gotten sick. The chicken really was very tasty. I hope FF shares some more with me in the future.

I don't think so.

FF says I look like Puss Puss from Comedy Central's animated Kid Notorious. He says that we both have big green-yellow kitty eyes. What do you think?

Puss Puss and all the other cast members.

Puss Puss and "Robert Evans"

Puss Puss, "Robert Evans" and "Slash"

Well it does appear that this animated cat and I do have one thing in common. We both like lap time with our humans.

If you would like to see Puss Puss in action check out the Kid Notorious site on Comedy Central.

Tiger by the Tail

Humans have no clue how great it is to have a tail. A tail can be very expressive. When I am irritated or annoyed, I swish my tail in rapid determined jerks. When I am feeling relaxed and happy, I swish my tail carelessly to and fro, often swishing it in the face of my humans if I am sitting or laying near them. When I am frightened, I puff up my tail and when I am bored I chase my tail. Chasing your own tail is extremely challenging but can bring much joy when you are challenged by the day's tediums and want to make your humans say “Why is she chasing her tail, that silly cat?” A tail is also good for curling around your body when you sleep in a tight bundle. I’m going to do that now. I like to curl it around to touch my nose and gently flick its tip when I am trying to sleep and am being distracted by my humans. I also like to curl it around and tenderly tuck it under my chin when I sleep. I’m going to do that now. Having a tail makes me glad that I am a cat. Poor humans and other non-cats. (By the way, dogs have no clue about how expressive a tail can be. What is this constant wagging at anyone business? Dogs are tail language deficient. Of course I often think that many humans are tail language illiterate. So no wonder some humans like dogs. In a sense they speak the same language.) Anyhow enough about dogs. I am off to take a nap, tail tucked under chin.

Webpage

The Catchow website offers you the option of having your own webpage. I noticed that there was only one other cat listed from Vermont. Where are the rest of my cat buddies, slacking on the internet usage or are they non catchow eaters. Yikes thats a scary thought. I checked out some of the other featured cats and just some random listings. They were interesting. I went to have MFH register for me (she is the one with an email account and knows more about photos and html than I do.) But the site says they are updating their site so no new accounts or changes to current accounts until Nov. 1, 2003. I was ok with this on Friday but now its 11/4 and still the same message. Sigh, I was hoping to get more of a readership for my blog if I could post the url on a new webpage on catchow. I really want to create a page on catchow but should I consider looking at another cat food site? Oh, what a quandary. Guess I will nap on it today and see if they change their site tonight.

:-) and :-(

Today MFH didn't leave for work with FF. It's always sad to see my humans leave but I have mixed feelings when I see one leave and one stay. I'm sad but also happy. I love both of my humans. MFH was sick today so I kept her company. She and I took a long nap burrowed under the covers. She is good at burrowing just like me. We both just had our heads peaking out of the comfy blanket. In the evening, I ran around the house. Every once and a while its fun just to go nuts and go speeding up and down the stairs and from one room to another. No, I was not under the influence of catnip. Just felt like having some extreme exercise. Anyhow, both of my humans are home now and its dark outside. I'm going to have a quick cat chow snack and then I am going to be the first one in bed and stake my claim to a good sleeping spot. Good Night.

Happy Day

There is nothing like having the entire bed with all the comfy blankets in the comfy room all to myself. The freedom to stretch, roll, burrow with no humans to move about and wake me up. The simple pleasures of life are sometimes the most fulfilling. I think I hear MFH coming. I have had such a wonderful day that I don't mind giving up some of the bed space to her to read. I love having the bed to myself but I love my humans as well. Have a great evening.
